Wise Works!

WISE Works! will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 4:45 to 7:30 pm in the Great Hall at the Fountain Commons.

This career-focused event will provide Acadia students with an opportunity to engage with female Acadia Alumni/faculty who are in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math (STEAM) careers. The event is open to all interested students regardless of their program of study, and we are appreciative that Dr. Erin Crandall from Politics/Women's and Gender Studies has been involved in the planning of WISE WORKS, as have students & faculty from numerous FPAS disciplines!

Our plenary speaker, Acadia Alumna, Dr. Donna Hurlburt (former Indigenous Student Adviser at Acadia, now Manager, Biodiversity with the NS Dept. Lands and Forestry), will be followed by the chance for Acadia students in attendance to talk speed-meeting style with sixteen WISE Advisors representing a variety of careers (some who received Arts or Professional Studies degrees before moving into STEM fields). Since the event is taking place over the meal hour, pizza and beverages will be available.
